In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, this workshop will be discussing such issues as —
Identifying events or patterns in our own childhood or teen years that stem from our relationship with our own parents and how they can spill over into our adult relationships and affect our mental health throughout our lives.
Understanding how the experiences of our parents affected and may have limited their ability to parent us and our siblings in a healthy manner.
Learning how to address these issues and break the generational cycles with our own children and grandchildren without swinging the pendulum too far in the opposite direction. (Absent parent v. helicopter parent)
How to effectively co-parent with a spouse that is affected by childhood trauma.
